Wait, what? What is this!!?! No... It.. Can't Be!! It's... It's... a NON Steam Powered locomotive! Drawn by ME! Gunslinger!!! NOOOOOOO!!! *it's a sign of the apocolips*
Yes, believe it or not but I have drawn a non-steam form of railroad motive power. I may be a Hard Core, Die Hard Steam fan and buff, but I do have a soft spot for small industrial little critters like this.
The Plymouth Gas Mechanicals have long been a favorite small loco of mine and I plan to get an On30 one from Accucraft eventually. But this locomotive here is based/inspired by Bachmann's On30 and 1:20.3 (Fn3) scale model. Although this loco's design come from the late 1930s or early 1940s I still find it an appropriate loco for TOC modeling. (Turn of the Century)
And for those who aren't edgucated in the way of trains this is NOT a steam locomotive! Yes it has a "Smoke Stack" and side rod like a steam loco, but it is a gas powered machine. Very much like a farm tractor on railroad tracks.
I drew this up because I'd like to have a few for my On30 "Wolf Creek & Flagstone" railroad and one (or maybe two) for my "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad & Mining Co.".
In the way of paint schemes I'm going to work on the BTMt. RR scheme first. I know what my W.C.&.F. scheme is already.
It my be blasphamy for you steam buffs, but I think it's a loco worth my time to draw. And frankly I really like this clunky, sputtering, and clanky locomotive!
And also, this IS available as a print! Note me if interested.

Cool! I might use this to make a 3D model of it.
