Drawing A Train: Part 5

Description

Now that we have our guid marks down we can move onto drawing the actuall border lines.
In order to save pencil lead, as well as the neatness, I just go strait to pen and draw the lines. If you feel more compfortable drawing out the lines in pencil first then that's ok to. But like with your marks KEEP YOUR LINES LIGHT!!! All you need to to JUST be able to see them.

When you ink the lines I used the .08 pen. It has the broadest/fattest tip and makes a fairly thick line. It is ideal for borders. Please take note, sometimes the ink line may not be dark/black enough on the first pass. Draw your first line then give it a few seconds to dry. Then go over it again and the line should be very black.

BE SURE TO LET THE INK DRY!!! Drafting Pens and Fine Line Markers tend to smudge easily when wet. Sometimes it may take a few minutes. So BE PACIENT!!! After all, a fine wine can't be made in 15 minutes! ;p

After you've drawn your lines and the ink has dried look over what you have thus far. If you see any pencil marks erase them with the Art Gum. Erase LIGHTLY!! Even when the ink is dry it can still smudge! So take it easy and take your time. Your pacience will be rewarded. :D

Snazzy. :D It never really occured to me how much patience it takes to make those nice borders that your works always have, but the end result does make a difference in the end. ^^
