What is THIS blasphemy!!! I, A.J., a steam enthusiast to the core, post a drawing of an infernal combustion locomotive!!?! IT'S A SIGN OF THE END I TELL YOU!!!!!
Naw, not really. This is a bit of a co-op effort between me and a good friend of mine, :iconcnw8646: We got into a discussion about rebuilt locomotives and the topic segwayed into the CF7 rebuilds. Basically taking the wonderful, streamlined, F7 and rebuilding them into a makeshift GP locomotive. And then I asked if something like that had ever been done before with an E unit like an E8? He said no and I said DO IT!! :iconfoxhahaplz:

And here is the "first draft" of our abomination, the "CE8". A makeshift SD locomotive done up in Empire River & Western colors. This one has dynamic brakes, but the final rendition will probably not have those. The overall idea was what kind of locomotive Could-Have-Been but was never made. And what would make the HO scale rivet counters go "DaF*ck Iz THAT!!?!". If it's not obvious, I love freelance railroading. And no worries, I'm still a hardcore steam buff. But 'Cornbread' and I have often discussed what the ER&W's contemporary motive power would be like. And this is a small example of what the fleet might be like. Along with a center cab DDA40x and some other blasphemous rebuilds and monstrosities. Though all that being said, and as crazy as some of these more modern forms of motive power may be, they are not out of the realm of possibility. My only stipulation. (And to be able to kitbash them in HO scale)

Anyway, just plausible freelance fun in contemporary railroading. I hope you guys like!
(Please comment if you fave) :)

FYI: Credit for the parts go to Mike Eby. So I've provided a link for his site. Special thanks to: Mike Eby. This drawing is drawn to 1:55th scale.

How about f7s with gp9 cabs leaving the rest of the streamlining and the diaphragms. Something like this diesel locomotive concept
