Description
Well here it finally is! The 2-8-0 from my vision!
As I worked on this I kinda bugered up the sand domes a little, and there are a few other rough spots here and there. But overall I REALLY like how it turned out.
Given the visual look of this loco I don't think it would blend in too well with my Wolf Creek & Flagstone motive power too well. Not to mention an engine with these lines should be graced with a colorfull paint scheme instead of the black and graphite of my WC&F roster. But I can easily see this loco hauling mixed or heavy frieght trains on the Big Thunder Mt. Railroad in the Arizona desert. Can't you?
This locomotive is so charming to me I think that this engine DESERVES to be imortalized as an On30 model! My fellow modelers and hobbyists my notice that the frame is similar to the Bachmann On30 2-8-0. That's because it is. I'll use the chassis of the B-mann On30 2-8-0 and the rest will mostly be scratch built. The stack will be from a Bachmann On30 4-6-0 and the headlight will come from a Bachmann inside frame 4-4-0.
The next issue of business is what to name this loco. Really, I can't think of anyone's name that would suit this locomotive. I would prefer to name all my locos after friends but this case seems a bit different. I think I'll call this locomotive "Bigun". (pronounced Big Un) I think the name is appropriate because the loco has a husky look to it. And chances are that the BTMt. RR will not have a larger locomotive, of their own, running over their rails.
Well I hope you all like it!
