And shown here is our favorite couple, A.J. & Sakura. This one is kinda old, at least for me. Though I drew this entirely by hand the composure of the picture isn't. (a.k.a how the characters are posed) I got the idea out of the back of a Manga I have. I wasn't trying to copy the original artist, I just really like how he posed his characters and thought mine would look good to the same way.
A.J. and Sakura are my first two original characters and go WAY BACK to somwere around the years 2000 to 2002 or 2003. I can't really remember. At the time "Gunpowder Falls" was a concept that hadn't really been thought out yet so I hadn't cast these two as the main characters for it.
I considered casting them on a Gundam Fan Comic/Manga and hence the lack of 19th century apparell.
A couple of friends here on DA have asked about me posting colored versions of my characters. Hopfully this will satisfy them, well at least for now!
Anyway, it took me a long time to draw this one and I loved every second of it and would gladly do it again!!!
Wow, this is great-- they look so natural in their possitions and expressions! I have to admit that it seems odd to see A.J. wearing a modern wrist watch, but I guess that's the nature of old characters, isn't it!
Keep up the awesome work with these guys, they're just great characters.
Maybe they're japanese time travellers who've gone back to the 19th century? o:
Looks very nice, I like the pose and the coloring, but just want to - out of pure nowhere - point out one thingy.
I hope you don't considder them furries, if they have human faces and not a muzzle/maw they're not furries. They look more like anime/manga nekos. This is a big subject of debate in furry fandom but the common assumption is that without an actual animal head and full body fur/scales they're not furries. So I'd call them nekos and not furries.
And I dunno how many chars I've seen named Sakura on dA this past week, it's numbed me down quite a bit, just that to me the name's become too mainstream. I have nothing against you using it, just sounds too "meh" that's all.
Now I have to stop staring at her butt because that pose is tempting. X3

Well, I have been meaning to tweak out my fursona a bit and make him more Anthro. Any way this is how I started drawing these characters. Just for future reference, A.J. is completely covered in fur.
And "Sakura" has had that name since I was in middle school and right now I'm 21! Also you had better NOT act apon your temptation or you might loose a few parts due to a lead bullet!!! (A.J. is VERY protective)

The fur is not so well defined in many anthro draws, just by a few tuffs here and there, what counts is an actual muzzle. But meh, it's your draws.
And I would loose more than that, I have girls of my own who will strike down upon me with great anger... and sharp objects... and heavy blunt objects... and cast me into a place that makes the deepest levels of hell feel like a pleasant vacation spot. Oh what fun.

Well, as of late, I've decided to change/modify my fursona a bit. As I'm sure you recall the "A.J." is my fursona. I have decided to make him more anthro, such as giving him a muzzle. But since Ive already established him in one of my stories he'll stay thay way he is in the picture through-out the rest of the comic. but when it comes to my personal fursona he will be trully anthro!
